What makes Lumiere Children’s Therapy different from other providers?
Lumiere offers truly individualized, one-on-one therapy in a fully collaborative environment. Our multidisciplinary team includes on-site occupational, physical, speech, social work, and behavioral therapy professionals, plus a Lead BCBA and Director available daily for consultations. We go beyond care delivery by helping families navigate insurance, explore local grant support, and maximize coverage. Our whole team works together to support each child like a true medical team because your child’s success is our shared mission.
How do I know if my child needs therapy?
If you’re noticing delays in your child’s speech, motor skills, behavior, or social-emotional development, or if something just doesn’t feel quite right, trust your instincts. Therapy can offer clarity and support. We also offer evaluations to help identify your child’s needs and whether services are appropriate. Early support can make a big difference.
Do I need a referral from a pediatrician?
A referral from your pediatrician is recommended, though not required for all services. Some insurance plans do require one. Our intake coordinator will guide you through exactly what’s needed to access insurance benefits and get started smoothly.
Therapy & Treatment Approach
What types of therapy do you provide?
We provide speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work services, behavioral therapy (ABA), and therapeutic preschool services. You can explore our full range on the services page.
What happens during an initial evaluation?
During your child’s first visit, a licensed therapist will assess developmental skills using a combination of observation, parent discussion, and standardized tools. This helps us create a personalized therapy plan that supports your child’s strengths and addresses areas of need.
How long are therapy sessions?
Most therapy sessions, including speech, occupational, physical, and social work, are 60 minutes in length. This allows time for targeted interventions and caregiver communication.
How often will my child need therapy?
The frequency of therapy depends on your child’s unique needs and the goals set during the evaluation. Some children benefit from sessions once a week, while others may attend more frequently as part of an intensive or multidisciplinary plan
Can parents observe or participate in therapy sessions?
Yes! Parent involvement is welcomed and can even be built into your child’s treatment plan. Our therapists will work with you to determine the best way to support and participate in your child’s progress.
